1. Who we are

Nexus Innovation Hub Ltd (company number 17429342) is a community and venture ecosystem. For the purposes of this website, Nexus Innovation Hub Ltd is responsible for deciding how personal information submitted through the site is used.

2. Information we collect

When you register your interest or contact us, we may collect:

• your name and email address;
• your organisation, role or preferred participation pathway;
• your location, sector, business type and role-specific profile details;
• information you choose to include in your message;
• member profile, Startup Passport and application-tracking information you choose to save;
• venture milestones and support requests you save as a Builder member;
• connection-profile details and introduction requests you choose to submit;
• challenge briefs, team applications and review decisions;
• essential sign-in session records and one-time login-link records;
• membership and subscription status supplied by Stripe (we do not store full payment-card details);
• your separate communication, matching, contact-sharing and photo/video permission choices;
• aggregated page-view counts by date and page, without advertising identifiers;
• short, sanitised client-error reports used to identify broken pages;
• basic technical and security logs produced by our hosting services.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries and expressions of interest;
• route people to relevant membership, programme or contributor pathways;
• match opted-in members with relevant opportunities, expert requests, challenges and collaborations;
• manage applications, partnerships and sponsorship conversations;
• review Builder requests and arrange relevant mentors, clinics or introductions;
• show an opted-in connection profile to signed-in Nexus members and review warm-introduction requests;
• publish a Startup Directory profile only when you explicitly choose public directory visibility;
• send news and opportunities when you have asked to receive them;
• manage event communications, approved contact sharing and event media permissions according to your choices;
• protect the website and understand how our services are operating.

4. Our legal basis

We process the core account and membership information needed to provide the service, administer participation and keep Nexus secure. During onboarding, we ask you to confirm that necessary processing. We rely on your separate choices for optional event/member communications, marketing and newsletters, contact sharing, photo/video use and relevant matching messages. You may change or withdraw any optional permission from your member profile.

5. Service providers and sharing

We use trusted hosting and communication providers to operate the website, authenticate members, deliver messages and process payments. This may include Brevo for email and contact-list management, Stripe for subscription billing, and our hosting provider. Providers may process information only to deliver those services. We do not sell personal information.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect people, the Hub or its services.

Startup Passport information remains private unless you select “Publish in Startup Directory”. Public listings exclude account email addresses and private pitch-deck links. You can remove a listing by changing its visibility in your Startup Passport.

Connection profiles are hidden by default and appear only to signed-in Nexus members when you opt into the member directory. Account email addresses are not shown in that directory. Nexus may share the requester’s and recipient’s contact details with one another only when a warm introduction is approved and made.

Nexus does not publish or share account contact details simply because you join. Where you opt into contact sharing, details may be exchanged only after a relevant Nexus introduction or event. Photo and video permission is also optional and recorded separately.

6. International processing

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we expect appropriate contractual or legal safeguards to be used.

7. Retention and security

We keep enquiry information only for as long as it remains useful for the purpose for which it was provided, legal obligations and reasonable record-keeping. Newsletter details are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect information.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your information, and to receive a portable copy. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

9. Cookies and analytics

The current site does not use advertising cookies. Nexus records aggregated page totals and sanitised client errors without assigning an analytics identifier to a visitor. Hosting providers and Nexus create essential security or authentication cookies and operational logs. The Nexus sign-in cookie is used only to keep members securely signed in and expires automatically. If optional analytics or marketing cookies are introduced, this notice and any consent controls will be updated before they are enabled.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Nexus services develop. The latest version and its effective date will always be published here.
