Find the real friction
It might sit in work, business, learning, care, community or everyday life. Begin with what makes something unnecessarily hard.
Women in AI Hackathon
One women-only day to turn a real frustration, a useful idea or a quiet “surely there is a better way” into an AI prototype.
The brief
Choose a problem that matters to women and build a small working route through it. The final challenge brief will be shared before the day.
It might sit in work, business, learning, care, community or everyday life. Begin with what makes something unnecessarily hard.
Use AI where it genuinely helps. A clear, testable prototype matters more than a long slide deck.
At the end of the day, teams will show the practical value of their build to a live judging panel.
How the day works
Teams of 3–5. Developers, designers, founders, students, HR professionals, community organisers and people with lived experience are all welcome.
Work from the event brief or a well-defined need that the team can explore safely and practically in one day.
Show what the user can do, why it helps and what should happen next. The winning team receives £100.
Help make the day happen
The hackathon itself is for women. Sponsors, mentors and judges of any gender are welcome to help make it stronger.
